Im like 95% positive we have the scope he shot in a museum. Why is this up for debate?
My drills told us about it being on display
Hathcock was a country boy. His stories are direct to the point. No fluff except when he shot the Apache, he shot her twice because she was evil then he laughs about it.
You're doing the Lord's work Sir
MythBusters got a lot of stuff wrong 🦁♎
It's just sad that, you're jumping on the band wagon. 😢....😂
Gunnery Sgt. Carlos Hathcock is still the greatest combat sniper. All other claimants since emit Soviet "truth" vibes.
Horses**t myth...
Effing badass! Slo Mo for the WIN!
When Hathcock shot the NVA sniper called Cobra through his scope both him and his spotter reported on impact the body flopped like a fish. 😂😂😂 Good Times. Carlos and the Cobra stalked each other all day with the Cobra ending up facing the setting Sun, causing his scope to glint. Hathcock shot the flint putting the round straight through the scope into his opponents eye! If he had waiting any longer, the Cobra would have killed him with a headshot.
This marine is known as WhiteFeather. He would cry if he knew that Marines erased the "Scout Sniper School". Development Agenda 2030.
The thing is he was just trying to eliminate another sniper that was hunting him and his spotter. He shot at the reflection of the sun. That turned out to be thow the scope.
what a stupid thing to keyboard warrior over!!
Who else has binged this guy's entire channel?
I remember watching that episode and just thinking how can they actually say that they're getting results either way when they're not using the exact same type of scope
So the ones proving or trying to prove the shot were half cocked
If only I had this aim in video games
The more I learn about Myth Busters the more I realize they did almost everything halfassed....
Rest well, Marine.
FINALLY someone got it right. THANK YOU!!!
Got Him...
I had the pleasure of meeting Carlos Jr. at Camp Perry during a rifle match. Polite and unassuming young man. Semper Fi.

Vaccine scenario was portrayed in the 1993 film "Sniper" featuring Tom Berenger
I read "White Feather." The story of Hathcock's hunting "the Cobra" is remarkable!
Electrician should train history teachers
I remember Mythbusters doing that original episode. Stating the errors made. Then did a revisit using the correct gear.
1:1,000,000 odds
Kobra kai more like kobra eye
The fact you Guys manned to Nail it on the first Try 🤯 Truely mind-blowing 😅
Yea MythBusters didn't have the right gun or the right ammunition to recreate the situation.
Bro just casual proved history like it was nothing 😊
The white feather if I remember right
I love this man's story. I discovered the biography "Marine Sniper" in highschool and I've read it cover to cover 5 or 6 times.. more times than any other piece of literature in my life. I randomly met an older Marine at a friend's cocktail party and soon discovered he served with Carlos Hathcock Jr. and his C.O. Jim Land and his spotter Burke..i consider it to be one of the single greatest moments in my life, and a true honor.. and that includes all the times I've met and dined with actual sitting presidents 💯💯💯💯

I mean, if the skull is punctured even if the bullet is perfect you got glass in your brain
Love the channel and your commentary
White Feather 🪶
Legendary Razorback 😉🫡🇺🇸
Fine! Fine Nick, you know what? Just to show you, I'm going to go watch that long-awaited Carlos Hathcock video again! Furthermore, I'll probably watch it again in the future! Trying to try me like that, please.. 😘
I watched this last night lol
The shot happened. He was a REAL American Bad Ass
I swear I've learned more from Fat Electrician than I ever did in a history class. And I excelled in History

I love watching this guy's channel hearing all the amazing bad ass stories of real men 🇺🇸
This a really slow story
So mythbusters proved that this shot can’t be accomplished using a random gun, ammunition, and scope, wow what an educational experience.
When I was in college, I heard about him. I read his book. It was incredible.
Damn, the glass killed the person, without the scope they’d have survived
Well done fellow sparky.
I read the book white feather when i was 17. Way back in the 90s. Highly recommend it.
The best snipers aren't the ones with the most kills. They're the ones with the most skills.

Watched it! 👍🙏💪🇺🇸
Do you mean pulverizing the entire front hemisphere of someone's face with supersonic shards of glass and metal is fatal? Who knew?
Does your merch fit fat guys, though?
The recreation being damaged but the real one not I imagine is partially just luck
Great read is his biography 'Marine Sniper 93 Confirmed Kills'
They recreated the shot the first round fired, by the way.
Finally, i have watched others do this, but what hensaid, different caliber or scope
I sent mythbusters a msg, asking for correction.
I’m so proud of yall for this
Even if l not likely, def possible.😊
Some of us are extraordinarily fortunate. My brother was accepted (top of his class) into Ranger Academy Sniper Training during his time in the Army. He came home and I told him I could still outshoot him, I did. 🫢
It was so perfect recreation of that shot 😁😎
During the first airing of that episode of Mythbusters, I sat there screaming at the screen that everything was wrong about their test as if Adam & Jamie were suddenly going to stop and say “we are doing this all wrong”, which they did do, and then proceeded to continue doing it wrong.

Was the fatality in question?
How did we go almost 50 years before someone grabbed a basic Winchester rifle in 30-06 and put one round through the same kind of scope? It kind of beggars belief.
I was a whiskey too from 4/2007-7/2011!!!
Carlos hathcock was a legend rip🫡🪦🕊️fly high brother
Bro stop cooking I’m stuffed
White Feather
So fkg AWESOME! Thanks Nick, love you much and hope you and your family are all well. 😀🤘 (Going to that video now!)
You should make a video about Hershel “Woody” Williams, he is from my home stat of West Virginia, my grandfather took me to meet him before he passed away

There are no limits on what's possible. The only limitations are finding the right person to do it , and if they will. William Sidus is proof of that ! Shadow 🚫
Mythbusters got mythbusted
Nice mythbusters test. I approve.
Hathcock is an absolute legend.
That dude has some interesting stories...
I have heard that the scope is at the Marine Corps museum in Quantico
I do feel a need to defend Mythbusters on this specific topic. In season 5, episode 7 "More Myths Reopened" the Mythbusters do, in fact, get a period accurate AP round to pass through a period accurate weapon and impact 2" into a ballistics gel head. They reverse their first finding and make the myth plausible.
I hope one day you do a story on Rick Rescorla. A British American soldier who was a hero of 9/11
2
World War II and World War I… and I saw it on Saving Private Ryan
Hathcock was great. Now do Mawhinney...
I come bearing news at this AI generated voice chat has talked about A navy vessel that flies to the jolly Roger's and how they got permission to do so Perhaps you can better tell the story Please
I dont think the fatality conformation is necessary. The eye socket is not particularly well defended.
Yeee blew off me chicken!
Hey nick I know you don't normally do non Americans but I just heard of a story about a British un kill able solder. Named Adrian Carton de Wiart would be cool to hear about some other allies heros too
You should do a video on chesty puller
Lyudmila Mikhailovna Pavlichenko, credited with 309 kills, and many say it was a lot more. Her 309 compared to 93 by Carlos ?
You should do a story on the only plane to ever get a Purple Heart. It was a c130 transport
You should do a video on David bleak I think is his name.
Also keep in mind Carlos collected the rifle afterwards, as well as Intel from the sniper, and gave it to his CO.
Nick, you gotta do the story of the Marines at Chosin Reservoir in Korea, and tootsie rolls... Fascinating story!
I have a copy of his book that my dad had in his collection. It's an awesome read.
White feather 🪶
He did. Next question.
Just seen a little video into this british guy named Digby Tatham Warter please if you ever get the chance id love to hear your take on this guy i think you would really love his style lol
imagine fat electrician explaining a Phineas and Ferb
Not the first time Mythbusters failed to take all details into account. The "celebratory gunfire" episode blew chunks too.
