Mgs3 is great, but im more excited for the next remake. Really excited to see shadow Moses in current gen.
But metal gear its made to be played in the chronological order like the ending of mgs2 its the "question" and mgs3 was the "answer" to it. So if you played mgs3 first you kinda just ruin it
Also making Silent Hill 2 before the rest makes sense because 2 doesn't connect to the overall story of 1,3

meh, the *first* one was Metal Gear, and that one needs the full current-gen makeover.
The original MGS (PS1) is an overall better design game (story, localization, controls). MGS3 seems like a better game in contrast to how wired and convoluted the story was in MGS2.

I think MGS3 first was a great idea. The next game for newbies to play is Ground Zeroes and then The Phantom Pain. That gives Konami time too tackle the rest of the timeline since those next games were made so long ago. When they finally finish it up maybe just do a remaster/slightmodernized of controls of MGS4 since it still holds up very well.

Metal Gear 1 and 2: Solid Snake are the ones that desperately need remaking the most. Will be like playing a brand new game!

Just play whatever MGS game that interests you and work your way around even saw some people started the series with MGS4. People really take play order shit way too seriously.

Its first because it is to tie graphically closer to the recent games and is the canon first story game and deserves praise! Metal gear solid 1 could be next but i dont want them to remake the other games just this one makes prefect sense!

Man i hope there already hard at work with Metal gear solid. This will be an incredible experience for gamers old and young. Just bought 4 digitally and guna play mgs1 somehow emu or buy.

Actually in the case of silent hill....didn't the first game already get a remake? Isn't that what shattered memories on the Wii was?
They did silent hill 2 first because it was popular and because it's a standalone story. 3 is a direct sequel to 1.

But in fairness, Snake Eater is chronologically the first game so it actually makes sense.
