Reviewer Tom Marks takes a look at the Nintendo Switch 2 port of Cyberpunk 2077 after playing its early missions. This footage was captured while docked in Quality mode, which runs at 1080p and 30 FPS, while Performance mode runs at 1080p and 40 FPS. Played handheld, it runs at 720p and 40 FPS or 1080p and 30 FPS, respectively. #IGN #Gaming #NintendoSwitch2

Mine keeps crashing. Is there gonna be a fix for this?
We need GTA5 on switch 2
This game is fuc**** insane on NS2. Amazing how this fit on a cartdrige running on a portable device.
I have played this game through several times on a 4090 top line system, but playing it on a Switch 2 made it feel new an exciting. Even with the graphical downgrades, it's got the juice and is a technical showcase for the mighty Switch 2
If you got a switch 2 for cyberpunk you are missing the plot of why to buy a NINTENDO SWITCH 2
7/10?
Man, I forgot about Stadia
'Better than possible', I'm sold
holy sh*t, this guy's voice is un-listenable.
Nintendo fans are hilarious. People are crapping on this console for obvious reasons. It’s okay if you bought one; it’s your money. But stop trying to convince everyone else that this isn’t an underperforming console.
So much jealousy surrounds the Switch 2. It's hilarious. I will always support companies that offer full physical games without downloads, so I bought it today for $70 and I don't regret it at all.
I hate that he talked about mouse mode. I just want to know if the game is good and does it function well if yes ok mouse mode is just an added gimmick.
when it was released it should have never been released but if you go back onto cyberpunk like now it is clearly one of the best I've played in the last decade please new DLC
Listen to them near the beginning trying to soind honest and convincing when they say 'its really good' 😂
Tried to play the base game on PS5 when Phantom Liberty released and it hard crashed almost every single time I died in the game. I want to give it a try on Switch but I’m nervous I’ll waste my money again!
I honestly think this has been my favorite way to play the game. I had tried it on Xbox Series X at launch and it was rough even on that hardware, I waited a while then played it on PC in 2023, followed by an attempt on steam deck. The performance on switch 2 is good enough that I am enjoying it on a handheld. And despite there being a dedicated settings profile on the steam deck, the switch 2 version is night and day better. I am loving curling up in bed at night, and spending a couple hours at a time in Night City. Something about the handheld is making it so much more immersive for me.
My review is that I'd rather be playing Cyberpunk on just about anything else.

I can't help but notice you can't, except it is great and better than all of you thought. Lol, it's ok for nintendo to do good. You seem to have such a hard time saying it.

These kinds of games are way too negative imo.
Yup, picked this up with my Switch2 on launch. A must to show support for full game on cart physical media.
I am playing the Switch 2 version exclusively for handheld. If I w as my to play in tv I create a cross save and jump to PS5 Pro. It’s very seamless.
Cyberpunk, Witcher 3 and Hogwarts looks better than anything Pokémon has ever made 😂
the game just isn’t fun. it’s a waste of time
Hard for them to say one good thing about a game on Switch 2....
it an awesome port. the price is expensive but if any game is worth $70 its cyberpunk2077 an all its dlc at least you're getting a full game on a cartridge that you will own. an can even install on a new switch even with no internet
If you turn off 120hz in the Switch 2 settings then you can play Cyberpunk 2077 in 4K60 in docked mode. It looks so much better that way in my opinion and runs buttery smooth.
Handheld PC's only problem is optimization.
Cyberpunk 2077 doesn't look good on Switch 2 compared to Steam Deck OLED that's why I returned it from the store. I might as well wait for emulators to play Switch 2 games on my PC.
The game has many fps problems for this hardware from 2025, imagine this hardware will be around for 8 years.
I’m having a blast playing Mario Kart World. I think it’s an upgrade over the previous console. My only concern is that it’s only offering 30/40fps while current consoles can hit 30 locked and 60fps. I don’t see how it can play to many games for the next seven years without making compromises.
Is this guy stupid? IGN is simply pure garbage now.... Why are they getting a PC biased reviewer to review a Switch 2 game? "Better than passable...?" IGN is trash, lol. They are likely the most irrelevant media of the times. He doesn't even seem to understand that this is a portable console. "I can tolerate 40 FPS without getting sick..." What a god damn princess this dude is, lol.

Sorry to disappoint u all guys.. but they said switch 2 cartages are just licence that triggers game download when inserted and will be used for running the game afterwards:))
I really hope they do a switch 2 update for witcher
Why TF are you Re-reviewing an old game? Just because it's on a different system?

Graphical downstep? There isn’t that much difference tbh if any at all besides fps

I don’t know how they captured the footage, but it runs better than this video makes it look. This seemed like a video of backhanded compliments.
very good review tbh
hahaha, i play this game at PC with maximum ultra quality graphic with 1/4 price nintendo offer
I do wish reviewers would review the game and not constantly compare it to more powerful systems. We get it, its on other systems. I dont care. I have a Switch 2, tell me about that version and they actual gameplay, story, visuals etc. The control discussion for instance was a valid bit of reviewing. Thats interesting to me. 👍

I have both a PS5 and a NS2 and have never played the game. Which console should I get for?
I got it on ps5 but I love it on switch 2 the duel grip mode is a pretty cool feature. Remind me of the Nintendo Wii honestly with the joycon gyro it’s fun as hell once you get the hang of it
There is a steam deck derangement where they cant handle that the switch 2 version looks better.

While I appreicate the Mouse Mode...the Switch 2 by definintion is a HAND HELD...designed to he held! So you're review should have more emphasis on that, and less chat about mouse mode. Now go back and play it again!
I got both this and the Witcher 3 on Switch 1 & 2 solely because it is a physical release.
0 opinion how it plays on portable. 0 opinion about 2 modes with 30 fps and 40 fps. 0 opinion on battery life WTF is this review
Sad to not have a 4k video quality
I wonder will IGN ever review a Nintendo game with anything but backhanded compliments at best? Childish... It's a £400 handheld, guys.
Plying this game in mouse/gyro mode is unique and fun
Turning off 120 Hz mode in the console itself also makes the game look better. I actually think it looks pretty tham good and as it's a really good game taking it on the go is pretty nice.

Who is playing Cyberpunk on switch 🤦
Apparently you can attach a normal keyboard / mouse and they fully work, PC style.
More outdated ports
WHY COULDN'T PS4 GET THE FULL GAME
you give it a 9 out of ten on release ? crazy.....
I love for the "emotional" flash of image at the start its Judy love scene
So you are telling me that you got this on a cartridge but couldn't get it all on PS4!
The handheld aspect comes short in the review. Sounds like the reviewer barely played handheld. I have a series x but I am interested buying this only for the reason of playing handheld.
They gave it a 7
Waiting for switch 7 so that i can play in 4k 60
I prefer this type of review, feels more genuine
If you don't get on with using the joycon as a mouse, just plug in a USB pc mouse.
The world looks barren, little to no cars on the roads, very few pedestrians... I mean it looks good, However its definitely immersion breaking 😅
Great impressions...but ya'll really need to start talking more about the handheld experience in these videos, especially what to expect from the battery life. I think alot of us are looking to see if this is a viable handheld experience and I still have a ton of questions in that regard.
I could never use a mouse with just 40 or 30 fps.
Makes no sense in the menu that u can't press left click or a button.
I’m going to get this tomorrow
Good reviewer
Maaan, this review sucks!
I completed it on pc, andthe dlc, and all side quests.. and i'm still playing it on switch. and its still good, still looks good, and runs well.

Few restrictions'? A lot of choice? Did we play the same game? It's very narratively narrow for an RPG, which it isn't. Still a great game though
when you pay switch 2 with ps5 price to pay more on games too, just to play at 30fps, congrats you are officially being dumb! 👍👍
Bulls.....
The protection and fudge when they talk about performance here is pathetic, the FPS tanks hard when things get real busy and it's not like we just walk around in this game; Jesus if it was locked at 40fps I'd be amazed but come on IGN your a joke tell it like it is
You can remap the buttons
The tyranny of fidelity
This dude sounds like he's pinching out a stubborn loaf every time he says an adjective.

Pro tip: you can plug in any mouse/keyboard. Enjoy!
Im amused that Steam Deck (remorse) buyers always gather on a Nintendo Switch video.

Man, when I read this comment section I only read: "Mine's bigger than yours!" Just calm down and enjoy the games. What happened with gaming community?
I don't think this is "pretty good" or "better than passable" or even should be compared to the Witcher on the original switch. As someone who played Cyberpunk on the PS5, this is an equally as fun experience. You won't get as good of frame rate or graphics, but it's pretty darn close, and considering the size of the switch, insanely impressive. You mention that this is the version to get if you have no where else to play it, but you forgot the biggest strength of the switch... it's portability. That alone is a reason to get this version, especially if you travel lots and not always home, and can't lug around a console that has to be connected to a TV.

I had already played around 30 hours on PC before getting the Switch 2 version. The Switch 2 version is totally acceptable. Game is great. This was a perfect release for me since it has a cross save feature and I am going on vacation away from home.

2:10 I had it on my ps5 for ages and just couldn't get into it but during the switch 2 launch I decided on a whim to try it again and I prefer the portable aspect which makes switch 2 my favourite version

fave game
Can you use gyro aiming? As an ex pc gamer thats how I coped.
How about compare it with switcher3.
Below PS4 performance will hold the console back for future titles
That's more than a promise and more games that failed to come to the Original Switch will come to the Switch 2.
This guy should never be allowed to speak on a video review ever again. This was maddening to listen to.
Steamdeck is better.
Currently playing after playing on PC at launch. Its insane to see it running this well on the switch 2 and I'm enjoying the gyro aim.
that what split ficiton has in physical editon is an abomination in comparision with cyberpunk
You can use USB mouse and keyboard to play cyberpunk on switch 2 .. even UI will change to keyboard inputs instantly 😊
You can plug in a wireless mouse and keyboard into the Switch 2 and play it that way. It just works.
It doesn't make you seem more relatable to intentionally stutter over your words, dude. We know you're reading from a script, just read the damn script.
